Summer Reading

Mansfield Free Public Library will again offer a summer reading program for patrons birth to 13 years old. The theme this year will focus on science, building and community.  Letters will be sent home from Mansfield area schools, preschools and daycares during the month of May. Copies will be available at the library’s circulation desk and available for download on our summer reading Facebook page and website. Registration will start May 1st and end June 3rd, and is required to participate.

Summer reading will start Wednesday, June 14th and run till July 26th. We’ll meet every Wednesday and will have the meeting times split again this year, having the younger patrons meet from 10 AM-11 AM and the older patrons from 11 AM-12 PM.

The program is free of charge and offers lots of fun, engaging activities and enrichment for your children.  Library summer reading programs encourage children to read, learn and have fun while maintaining their reading skills.  Children who read during the summer gain valuable reading skills, while children who do not may slide backward, losing reading progress they made the previous school year.

Registration will start May 1st and end June 3rd. You can get all the registration forms at the library or here on our website. All registration forms must be handed in to a library staff member or volunteer by June 3rd.
